CHARACTER INFO
• Character Name: Aviendha
• Character Age: 20
• Character Canon: Wheel of Time
• Canon Point: End of Season 3
• Character History: Wiki here. Season 3 not updated in the wiki so a quick summary below.
In season 3 Aviendha starts out a romantic entanglement with Elayne that she must leave right away to take Rand to her homeland as he tries to claim the role of Car'a'carn a destined prophecy among her Aiel. She travels with them to meet with other Aiel but as she does she's upset about it, because in the prophecy Rand is said to spill the blood of the Aiel and leave only a portion of them when he saves the world. Once they arrive with the Aiel she is called to be a Wise One, who are a mix of Aiel women, causing her to have to leave the Maidens of the Spear and give up fighting which she has been avoiding. During her initiation into it she must pass through a magical object called a ter'angreal that shows her thousands of different ways her life may go depending on what happens. After she's in training to become a Wise One she's assigned to teach Rand how to be Aiel, and though she despises it and does it angrily at first she slowly starts to warm up to him.
• Character Personality:
— Honorable: Aviendha like most Aiel follows Ji'e'toh which roughly translates to honor and obligation and Aviendha follows it. We see this in the way she interacts with the different people within her own culture and outside. When Perrin saves her from the cage the White Cloaks have her in she is duty bound to him and helps him to travel to Falme to find his friends, not leaving until she does. At the same time when Perrin and her meet up with Bain and Chiad she lets them beat her to restore her honor when their friend had died in a fight with a strike to the back while Aviendha had defended herself instead of watching the other woman's back.
— Brave Bravery is something that is natural to Aviendha. Not only in sense that we see her take on many fearless fights/battles, for example when her and Perrin fight eight white cloaks without a second thought. She is also brave in the face of the unknown, leaving her home, the Aiel waste to travel over the spine of the world to the rest of the continent to seek their chiefs of chiefs after learning of prophecy. This is even without knowing any of the customs or the places that she would travel to.
— Observant: Much of what we see of Aviendha in the show is her out of her element and with things that are far from her own customs as Aiel. She is shown quickly noticing things that are different, sometimes asking about them, sometimes not. Generally being more inquisitive to the select people she likes. For example asking Perrin about his wedding ring which is not a Aiel custom, or asking Elayne about the tower when she notices her thoughts drifting. At the same time she's highly observant of her surroundings, noticing people in the distance and camouflaged that Perrin is only able to see because of his wolf senses.
— Blunt: Aviendha has no qualms about stating what she thinks in a very direct manner. When others are showing difference to Rand for who he is as the Dragon Reborn we see Aviendha not do that. He tries to give her an order by saying he is the Car'a'carn but she simply shuts him down by say he is not yet, as he has not formally claimed the title. When she sees Perrin's wedding ring she asks him. "This ring means you're owned by a wetlander woman yes? And you can lie with no one else?" Then goes on to share which of her friends will be bothered by the fact that they can't sleep with Perrin due to it.
— Judgemental Not only is she blunt about her thoughts but she is also judgmental. Before they return to the waste Aviendha complains that Rand is not Aiel in any way that she can tell. Yet at the same time she's never taught him things leading to him commenting how all she does is roll her eyes and stare at him. Later when she's tasked to teach him the Aiel ways as a wise one she always makes a point to be sharp about how obvious it is what they're supposed to be doing as she's bothered he doesn't already know such things. She frequently likes to remind non-Aiel of their shortcomings in her eyes.
— Stubborn: Very much set in her ways Aviendha is stubborn. She insists to the wise ones that Rand is unwilling to learn when they claim she'd not prepared him well for his role. Once she has her mind set on something it's very hard to change it, there's only two characters we see sway that away, instead standing firm with everyone else. Though she was called to be a Wise One she refused for a long time to give up her fighting spears until eventually forced by the other wise ones when they tell her she has avoided the call long enough. At one point she even challenges an outsider man to a fight for simply holding a sword near sacred ground, forbidding him from using it. This isn't in line with Aiel customs it's just how she strongly felt and she tried to enforce her will on him.
• Character Skills: Aviendha comes from a rough environment to live in so she has experience with struggles of survival in a difficult environment. However, it's the complete opposite from Milton instead her experience is with heat and lack of water.
• Spear Hunting
• Fighting
• Weaving
• Forging
• Character Inventory:
